Robert Roberson, Chairman and CEO

Mr. Roberson has provided the leadership for the David Allen Company for more than 50 years. Having served as president of several national and industry associations for the marble, granite, terrazzo, and tile industry, he has become a highly regarded industry leader, a technical consultant, an editor of industry publications, a teacher, and a trainer.

Don Scott, President

Mr. Scott has more than 40 years' experience in all phases of marble, granite, terrazzo and tile contracting. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Elon College. He formerly served as Chairman of the National Tile Contractors Association (NCTA) Technical Committee and as past president and chairman of the board of NTCA. He has served as chairman of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) 108 Standards Committee. He is an industry leader and the President of the nation’s largest marble, granite, terrazzo, and tile company.

David Roberson, Senior Vice President

David manages the Terrazzo Division of David Allen Company and is recognized throughout the industry as an innovative leader with 38 years' experience in terrazzo contracting as an estimator, field supervisor and, for the past 27 years, manager of what is now the largest terrazzo operation in the South, managing single terrazzo contracts in excess of $18 million. He has a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Campbell University. He has served as the president of the National Terrazzo and Mosaic Association (NTMA), as chairman of the marketing committee, and on the board of directors for 17 years. David chairs the NTMA technical committee and performs quality inspections for the NTMA throughout the United States.

Arthur Odom, Vice President / Chief Financial Officer

Art holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from UNC-Wilmington and is a certified public accountant with 27 years' experience in construction accounting and finance including three years’ work with a general contracting firm, and 19 years at David Allen Company. Art has become a leader in construction accounting and finance. He is past chairman of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas and current national board member as well as past chairman of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) and mentors other construction leaders in construction accounting and finance. He is an industry activist working to improve the construction industry through legislative leadership and promotion of a higher level of professional leadership within the industry.

Martin Howard, Vice President

Martin oversees the Tile and Estimating Divisions, has more than 27 years’ experience in the construction industry ranging from construction loan administration to general contracting, and 18 years in David Allen Company management. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Appalachian State University and has had management responsibilities in every area of the David Allen Company tile and marble operation. Martin is a highly regarded expert and consultant in the technical aspects of tile and stone and serves on the National Tile Contractors Association Technical Committee; NTCA Board of Directors; Standards and Methods, Training and Education, and Finance Committees. Additionally Marin serves as an ANSI 108 committee member, is the US TAG to ISO TC-189, and represents the NTCA on the TCNA Handbook Committee.

Philip Halcomb, Vice President

Phil manages the David Allen Company Washington, DC area branch office. Phil has been in the tile and stone industry for 55 years, first as a tile and marble contractor in California for 33 years and as an officer in the David Allen Company for the past 22 years. Phil has developed client oriented management skills which, coupled with his technical knowledge, have made him a valuable asset on any construction team. Phil is a strong advocate of industry unity and has provided leadership as a member of the Board of Directors of the Northern Virginia Association of Builders and Contractors for 20 years. As a civic leader, Phil has directed the David Allen Company/MS Golf Tournament for the past 17 years contributing more than $600,000 to the National Capital Chapter Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Christopher Walker, Vice President

Chris manages branch operations in the Mid-Atlantic and Metro Washington, DC area for the David Allen Company. Chris has over 20 years’ experience managing large stone and tile projects both as an independent contractor and as an officer and senior manager for specialty subcontracting organizations. Chris is regarded as an industry expert and is currently the Chairman of the American National Standards Institutes A-108 committee as well as the Chairman of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group ISO – 189. Chris also participates in the technical committees of industry related trade associations and the Tile Council of North America Methods committee.

Terry Preston, Secretary-Treasurer

For 27 years, Terry has been an effective part of the David Allen Company leadership team. Her duties include administrative management, special assistant to the CEO, and negotiating acceptable contract language. She has become a recognized expert on that subject and often tutors other subcontractors.Terry is currently president of the American Subcontractors Association of the Carolinas and has served as a past president of the Triangle Chapter. She has been a corporate officer for more than sixteen years and has many corporate responsibilities. Terry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education from N.C. State University, a Master of Arts in education from Western Carolina University, and a Masters of Business Administration from Meredith College.

Mike Howard, Director of Marketing

Mike holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Arts Education from N. C. State University as well as post-graduate work in Engineering and holds the CSI CDT Certification. His career spans more than 28 years in the commercial construction industry, 17 of which have been in management with David Allen Company. Mike is an active member of industry trade associations including ABC of the Carolinas, Carolinas AGC, Construction Professionals Network (CPN) CSI Raleigh Durham, and USGBC Triangle.

Nick Duvall, Columbia Branch Manager

Nick manages the Columbia, SC branch and is a second generation David Allen Company manager. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Carolina. Nick has been a manager with David Allen Company since 2002 with responsibilities including estimating, project management, business development and branch management and has a prior background in commercial construction. He serves on the Columbia, SC Council 2010 Leadership Team for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of the Carolinas.
